2024 Elections

At Fairfield University, we are committed to fostering civic engagement and the development of the whole person, rooted in our Jesuit tradition. Through Student Engagement, we empower our students to build community, lead ethically, and embrace diversity. We connect students, faculty, and staff to experiences that encourage civic responsibility, personal growth, and lifelong learning. Fairfield recognizes the importance of lifelong education and encourages intellectual curiosity that extends beyond the classroom. We support the scholarly and creative efforts of our community while sharing our expertise for the betterment of society. We encourage active participation in the wider community, ensuring that our students are socially aware and morally responsible citizens. As we approach the 2024 elections, we invite all members of our community to engage in the democratic process and make their voices heard.

Early Voting has concluded. If you have not voted already, and would like to, you have two options to ensure your voice is heard and your vote is counted:

If you are already registered to vote, you must go to your designated polling location within the city/town in which you reside. If you are registered to vote in Connecticut, you can look up your polling location using the online Voter Registration Lookup Tool linked below. https://portaldir.ct.gov/sots/LookUp.aspx

Polling locations are open today from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM in Connecticut.

If you are not already registered to vote, and you are eligible to vote in Connecticut, you must go to your city/town Election Day Registration Location (EDR) to register to vote and vote in this election.

EDR sites are also open from 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM today in Connecticut. If you are eligible to vote in the Town of Fairfield (i.e. live on campus or in the Town of Fairfield), you should go to the Election Day Registration site in Fairfield at:

Sullivan Independence Hall
2nd Floor
725 Old Post Road
Fairfield, CT 06824

Please note: You must bring your StagCard with you to the EDR site in the Town of Fairfield. If you live off campus, you will need to verify your address with a tuition statement, lease, or other proof of residence.

Fairfield University is excited to announce the Campus Electoral Simulation—a unique opportunity for students to participate in shaping a change that could benefit campus. This initiative is designed to educate our campus community on the importance of civic engagement and empower you to take part in the decision-making process.

Why Participate?
1. Impact Your Community: This is your chance to advocate for changes that directly affect your student experience. Whether it’s improved facilities, more campus events, or some fun treats, your vote can make a difference.
2. Civic Engagement: Engaging in this simulation not only helps you understand the electoral process but also fosters a sense of responsibility and connection to your community.
3. Celebrate Your Hall: The residence hall that champions the winning initiative will be rewarded with a pizza party/food truck event! Gather your friends and celebrate the power of your vote!

The Two Initiatives:
Would you like to remove Pete’s Café and replace with Dunkin, Starbucks or leave it at Peet’s?
Would you like to add a healthy food vending machine to the RecPlex Lobby?

VOTE HERE UNTIL MIDNIGHT ON ELECTION DAY:

In addition to physical and electronic books and other resources, the DiMenna-Nyselius Library provides the Fairfield University community with direct access to the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and America: The Jesuit Review. Through group access passes, each current member of the Fairfield U student body, faculty, and staff is given the opportunity to claim their own free digital subscription to these publications, eliminating article limits and paywalls.
