About this Event
Carol Ann Davis’ new collection of poetry, Songbird, has been hailed by former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins as forging “a new poetics”, and by the Whiting Award-winning Shane McCrae as a book which “revitalizes the American lyric.” In Songbird the most intimate aspects of the interior life echo against an exquisitely rendered natural world until the imagery of nature and the language of self and the voice of prophesy begin to fuse. It is, as McCrae puts it, “a book of reconnection in a time of severings.”
She will be in conversation with Fairfield professor and National Book Award-winning writer Phil Klay.
